The SwyxIt! on your local machine controls the audio for your headset. If you cannot hear the other party or they cannot hear you, it will often be down to this not being set correctly.
- To check these settings on the SwyxIt! on your local machine go to Settings -> Local Settings
- If you are using a headset, make sure it is set as your default. If you are using a handset, make sure it is set as the default.
- Double double-click headset or click the button "Configure" at the bottom
NOTE: If you are using a handset, double click the handset option or click the handset and the "Configure" button - Make sure the headset / handset is the default audio device
NOTE: If your headset isn’t set as the default Audio Device, please select it from the drop-down menu: - Tick the box marked "Prefer over other possible devices" if this is not already ticked
NOTE: On some Windows machines you might need to also check the ‘Alternative Microphone’ and select the headset from that drop-down box too - You can test the volume level of the headset by pressing the "Play" button and adjusting the volume slider as required
- You can also check the microphone volume here by pressing the "Adjust" button. Speak into the microphone and the software will adjust the level to suit your natural talking volume
- Press "OK" to return to previous screen when you are happy with the headset levels
- You may also check the ringing device from here. Select "Ringing" and double-click it or press the "Configure" button below
- You will probably want the phone to ring through your normal computer speakers if possible. Once again select the desired device from the drop-down box
- Press the "Play"button to test and adjust accordingly
- Press "OK" when happy with the setup
NOTE: You can also make the base station ring as well as your computer by selecting "Also signal incoming calls using the default audio device" check box. This is recommended. - When you are happy with the setup please press ‘OK’ to accept the settings and go back to SwyxIt!
